Hi, I will be arriving in Seattle on the 4th of May at 9.30 a.m. My connecting flight is not untill 7.30 p.m.? |
Travel Info I almost have the entire day with me and would like to make the most of it. Any recomendations on what I should be doing? I would like to see the Space Needle, are there any city tours from the airport? What food is more popular in Seattle, any good place you suggest? Thank you so much for your valuable time. Travel Tips If you can keep your luggage checked in at the airport, I would not try and lug it around downtown Seattle first off. Second check out Seattle Metro transit's webpage. That is the cheapest way to get downtown and if you take the 174 which goes from the airport to downtown, you will pass right by Safeco field and Qwest field on your way. Get off at Pike and you can head down to Pike's Place Market. Grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants around there, then grab the bus to Seattle Center. You do not want to walk that far. It is quite a distance. Have fun. Others Hi! Just returned on April 19th from Seattle. Check out www.graylineseattle.com/airpor... It's pretty much the cheapest way from Sea-Tac to Downtown Seattle - $17 roundtrip! And runs approximately every 1/2 hour. Had lunch at the Space Needle. Pricey but food was GREAT (hubby loved Butternut Squash soup) and view outstanding! You may want to make reservations to be sure you can have a seat. Once you get to Downtown Seattle, everything is pretty much in walking distance. We walked from our hotel (Hilton Seattle) to the Space Needle and toward the opposite way to Safeco Field! It may take the entire day especially if you stop to look around. Hope you don't have too many carry-ons to lug around. Pike Place Market was fun to experience - 1st Starbucks Store if you're a Starbuck's fan. We did a city/water tour that started at 9:00am but didn't get done until 6:00pm. We had a 2 hour break in-between the land and water tours. You may be able to do either one. I would recommend the water tour if you're stretched for time. We went through the Chittenden Locks - it was fun being on the boat as the water level was dropped! Seattle Aquarium was so-so. I wouldn't recommend that until it's improved. Poor animals don't have much of a home. Have fun! www.graylineseattle.com www.argosycruises.com www.spaceneedle.com www.pikeplacemarket.org www.seeseattle.org Downtown you should see Pike Place Market and eat some fresh seafood, the space need le is good with great views of the lakes and Pioneer Square is quite good For that short of a time, you will probably want to take a shuttle or bus that takes you to the Seattle Center (Space Needle). From there, there is a Monorail that takes you about 2 miles to the downtown area. There, you can see the Waterfront, Pike's Place Market, and any other downtown attractions you want to see. Or you can do it vis versa, and take the Monorail from downtown to the Space Needle. Look up things too do in Seattle at the Seattle Center, and the Waterfront. |
