Cheap hotel on San Juan Island?

There to see the whales and all that, and don't fancy spending $150+ a night, which is all I can see on the internet.

Anybody got any suggestions?

There are nice camp grounds in the San Juan Islands, take a sleeping bag & tent and have fun.

go to guidetosanjuans.com choose lodging and availability and it gives you all different kinds of choices from rv's to cottages and inns, then choose what island you want to stay on, and actually 150 plus tax a night is cheap for that area, if you want cheap you are going to have to travel farther....i work in federal way a few miles from seatac and the average price here is 100 dollars plus tax good luck
