What kind of winter Jacket..........................................? |
Travel Info We are moving from WI (Burrrrr very cold in the winter) to Western WA, and Im wondering what type of winter wear do i bring for my kids? We will get rid of all un needed items, Do we need big heavy winter coats for winter in WA??, if not what type do we need? Travel Tips Water proof is key for jackets. It can get cold here, but it usualy doesn't last long, and its no where near as bad as it gets in WI. A good warm jacket is good, but the snow pants and snow boots aren't really needed. Others Not sure what you mean by WI, but here in WA the winters are not too bad. We have average temperatures of 19C midday and down to 2C in the night. Also not sure what you mean by Western WA as WA stands for Western Australia and if you go more western than that your in the ocean, that could be cold. I do not own a big winter coat, just a few heavy jackets. Good luck I hope you like it here, I love it. Winters in western washington are generally mild. Average temps during the day in Dec-Feb are in the upper 30's to low 40's. Once or twice a year we'll get a cold snap with temps down in the 20's. It usually snows enough to accumulate once or twice a year. We do have a heavy winter coat for our daughter for when we go to the mountains and ski. She wore it a few times during the school year, but she doesn't walk to school and didn't need to be really bundled up most of the time. A lot will depend on your personal situation here. Will your kids be walking to school? Then you'll probably want a heavier coat. |
