Is Seattle better to live in than denver? |
Travel Info Is Seattle better to live in than denver? Travel Tips This is such a personal choice, it's hard to answer for you. Seattle and Denver are very different places. Seattle is coastal, cool and wet. We have lots of grey, cloudy days with misty type rain that keeps everything very green. Summers are warm and dry, but the rest of the year can be a challenge for those that need the sun. Denver is dry, sunny and semi-arid. Denver averages 300 sunny days per year. Seattle has about 1/3 of that. Both areas are outdoor meccas - mountains within easy drive. The skiing is better in Colorado because the snow is drier. The snow in Western Washington is wet and icy - not much powder here. Both areas have great hiking, and camping areas. Seattle also has easy access to boating. As for the local scene, I can't speak about Denver. Seattle is big on coffee shops, bookstores, movie theaters. There is a decent local music scene. We are a 3 hour drive from both Portland (south) and Vancouver BC (north). Politically Seattle favors Democrats. Most of Western Washington is "blue". Most of Eastern Washington is "red". Cost of living is on the high side in both places. Source(s): Lived in Seattle for 15 years. Visited Denver/Boulder several times Other Travel Tips well, i lived in seattle.... way too boring for me. though i suppose there is more to do there than denver. If you like rain and a losing basketball team It would depend on what you like, etc.. I can say one thing though.. If you don't mind rain, Seattle should be ok.. If you love snow, Denver would be the way to go :) yes it is Well I have lived in both and both are beautiful. Great surroundings and lots of things to see and do. Seattle and Denver have similar downtowns with some activities and shopping. Seattle has the water, Denver has the mountains. I can tell you one thing though the weather in Denver is a lot more unpredictable then the weather in Seattle. For the most part Seattle goes from wet and misty to occasional downpours. But Denver has crazy downpours and thunderstorms! Plus Hail! I had never experienced this before I lived there and I have lived in the Portland area and east of the Cascades in Yakima, Spokane and Tri Cities. It's really up to you though.
