Need suggestions for Sunday brunch in Seattle? |
Travel Info We are going to have a 5 hour layover at the Seattle, Washington airport on Sunday morning, May 6th. Instead of sitting around in the airport, we'd like to go somewhere for a delicious brunch. Any suggestions for places we could go that are not too far from the airport? Will we need to take a taxi or is there other public transportation we could use? Travel Tips Okay, if you are going to have a 5 hour layover then take the time to GET OUT OF SEATAC. Unfortunatly, the Seattle Tacoma International airport is not located in Seattle. Rather it is nestled comfortably in a pit of a town called SeaTac. SeaTac is not a fun place to visit. That being said, I have an excelent recommendation for sunday brunch. If you can get the time visit Ivar's Salmon House. It's on the North side of Lake union with beautiful views of the city. Not to mention 5 star food. They have an excelent brunch on Sunday mornings from 9:30 - 2:00. Regarding transportation, Public transportation means Buses, and they have limited schedules on the weekend. I also think you would have at least one, if not more, transfers to make. To be honest with you, I would see if you can rent a car. A cab to and from Ivar's is probably going to cost around 60 bucks (round trip). Bus will cost you like $2 per person per trip, but will take you at least an hour and a half each way. A quick check of Travelocity found rental cars for your time period to be between 15 and 35 bucks, so it's not too bad. Also, there is a back route from the airport that takes you over the viaduct with breathtaking views of Elliott bay and the city. Unfortunatly All of the map websites will tell you to take the highway, but this other route is actually faster due to less traffic and much more scenic. Also, it is not a complicate route at all. I have included a link below to google maps, which has the correct route, just ignore the pause. I had to make it a multi destinational trip to get this route. Hope this makes your layover more enjoyable. Source(s): http://www.ivars.net/salmon_house_home/s... http://travel.travelocity.com/car/displa... http://maps.google.com/maps?sourceid=nav... Other Travel Tips there are buses rental cars and taxis and lightrail, Seatac has a lot of restaurants you will have no problems |
