Moving to Seattle, WA?

Travel Info
I am coming from a city with a great night life and things to do. I have only visited Seattle once years ago and may be movign there for work. What is a great area to stay in near night life, parks, culutre and affordable?

Travel Tips
well for the night life university district is nice or somewhere near pioneer square or even fremont area all good but affordability? I would move right outside of Seattle and commute to work.....studio apartments in Seattle start around 1500 a month where as say Federal Way 20 minutes from Seattle a 2 Bedroom apartment starts at 600 dollars a month. I drive to Seattle a lot and i live about an hour away. Traffic is not as bad as everyone says, you just got to know an alternate route if your first choice is backed up

Seattle has a wonderful night life, but it really depends on how old you are. University District is a nice area for people around college age. Pioneer Square is a great area for all ages, 18 and above of course. There also are clubs and casinos dotted in and around the city of Seattle.

As far as parks and cultures, Seattle is really centrally located. It is located in between the Olympic Mountains and the Cascades. There is pretty much anything you want to do as far and outdoors located within a couple hours or less of Seattle. There are great historical tours that you can enjoy.

As far a affordability goes, King County (where Seattle is located) is very expensive. Pierce County is cheaper as well as Snohomish. Keep in mind though that traffic is horrendous and if you don't get a VERY good price on housing, then there is a possibility that you'll spend the same living near your work for convenience as you would living outside in a cheaper place but paying an arm and leg for gasoline. Ask yourself how long do you want to spend in traffic on a daily basis? There is also always the possibility of carpooling.

It is possible to find something cheap, but expect to spend a bit of time if you're not familiar with the area and think about driving the route during the hours you'll be coming and going just to get an idea before you sign the lease.
Chulita did a great job ansewing this Q but i would like to also mention it alo would make idif if you have kids and what not. Down south of seattle seems to have a higher crime rate aslo compared with north of seattle. As far as traffic we have it pretty much all day but it depends on whitch way you are going also. and what time of the day. As far as night life it depends again on what you are looking for. As she said college age, !8 and over, Gay/lesbian.....
