What are some good Washington State tourist attractions? |
Travel Info I'm doing a report/tourist guide for the state of Washington. I've already talked about Pike Place Market and the Grand Coulee Dam. Does anyone have any ideas? Travel Tips You're off to a good start. Since this is for school, here are a couple places a teacher would like to see in your guide: Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. A reconstruction of the British fur trading fort. http://www.nps.gov/archive/fova/home.htm... Lewis and Clark reach the Pacific. Read about Station Camp and Dismal Nitch: http://www.nps.gov/lewi/planyourvisit/st... The Long Beach peninsula at the very southwest corner of Washington, where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean. http://www.funbeach.com/ If you would like to add another historic event/place, search the web for Pig War San Juan Island. Good luck. Others Snoqualmie Falls the rain forest Space Needle Experience Music Project San Juan islands Mt Rainier Space Needle, Underground (see what Seattle use to look like), Tulip Festival (most beautiful flowers and colors 1st week of April), Mt.Baker (hiking, skiiing), Mt.Rainer (camping), Deming Log Show :-) (get a taste of the logger's life)...Whatcom County (good motorcycle roads in the summer) .Pt.Defiance Park and Zoo, Ocean Shores (go fly a kite), Visit to Canada for the day (Vancouver), Winthrop (old west town), and visit apple farms, water sports, fishing, ferry rides, take the Amtrak from Seattle to Vancouver and spend the night in Canada returning the next day..beautiful views! Live in Washington..AND for the person who gave me a thumbs down over tourist attractions~You've obviously never visited any of the destinations I suggested! Perhaps you would do best "hitch-hiking" down Aurora Ave at night! Mud Mountain Dam the largest earthen dam in the world also try Mt Rainier National Park(paradise and sunrise) there is the gorge at george and a petrified forest right before the gorge that is way cool also there is the rainforest by sequim that is a must |
