If you like kids and sports, find a sports themed summer camp or be a lifeguard. If you like working with the public, grocery store or a soft serve ice cream stand. Same position as you- 16 years old, looking for a job Work for the fair, either Puyallup or King County during the summer, you can work as a vendor and make a few hundred a week Seasonal places make good summer jobs. One of my earliest jobs was at a touristy gift shop (not in Seattle though) and then there was no obligation to stay when the summer was up. I'd check tourist-type spots, particularly large establishments that would need lots of new employees. (Just a note on the Starbucks suggestion. It's a bit tricky. Especially for a summer job. the minimum age is 16, but I know my manager gives preference to older applicants. It took me the whole length of a summer just to get the hang of the job. I'd 100% recommend it if you're looking for something more long term. Like to get through college, though.) |
