What is the best Western city in Washington State to move to?

Travel Info
We are thinking of moving to Washington state, if my husband can find a job (hes' an OTR truck driver). What are the better cities to live in? I prefer the western part of Washington. I lived on Ft. Lewis in 96' for a year, so I know that part of the state to be beautiful...any advice would be welcome...

Travel Tips
As a driver, your husband will have no problem find a job here. The Sunday paper always has ads for drivers.

I think the cities along Interstate 5 that are or near big cities are doing well. I'm talking about the areas around these cities (from north to south):
Everett
Seattle
Tacoma
Olympia
Vancouver
The towns between Olympia and Vancouver are not doing so well (sorry if this offends anyone), but I'm talking about Centralia, Chehalis, Castle Rock, Longview and Kelso. They are more dependent on timber and have suffered over the past 10 years or so. That said, the cost of housing would be lower in these smaller cities.

I happen to work for a trucking company. I'm not in a position where I can help with a job, but I can give you some names of companies here that are well-regarded. Is your husband looking for employment with a truckload, LTL or private fleet company? Source(s): NW native

i just moved from there and i found bothell to be the best city that i lived in. I lived in seattle, snohomish, bellevue, redmond, kirkland, everett, tacoma, puyallup... my job in the apartment industry had me moving often. I think that you get quite a bit more living in bothell than most places and the buildings are newer for apartments or homes. although i did enjoy seattle's view and historic values... i feel better value and money for bothell... it was still close to everything and i felt it was quieter, not as busy.... i just moved from there in june and lived there for 8 years. good luck with your move it's gorgeous, i moved to az and it's crazy hot! i miss the people and the mountains and views!
lived in washington for 8 years
For what it's worth, I've got a friend of mine that lives in Kent, WA., I live in Portland, OR, consider it, it is amazing...
Seattle
twin Lakes is good if you want to be by the city and is also close to major truck routes, I live in Enumclaw and it is very safe, real estate isnt really really expensive but it is King county so it is somewhat pricey, next door is a little town called Buckley, it is in Pierce county and is a lot cheaper to live in and good schools and safe in both towns
