Port Angeles or Ocean Shores?

My husband and I have a rare opportunity to get away together for the weekend and we were trying to think of where we would go. We narrowed it down to Ocean Shores or Port Angeles...some of our criteria for going are: the beach, nice hotels but not $$$ hotels, things to do, like a boardwalk or something similar...

Have any of you been to both places and recommend one over the other? What would you recommend for someone thats been to neither place?

If the beach is a priority to you, you should choose Ocean Shores. Port Angeles is on the water but doesn't really have an ocean feel to it. Go to Ocean Shores and you'll get the small town quaintness plus the waves.

I suggest Ocean Beach. You can do all in this place.
Port Angeles also offers you a getaway to Victoria, BC, just a ferry ride, bring your passport with you though. That's another place of discussion. Have fun.
I live in Silverdale, WA.
Port Angeles is a charming community and less of a crowded tourist trap like Ocean Shores.

Ocean Shores is great. Very peacefull for the most part. I highly recommend the Judith Ann Inn. Much quieter than the other hotels and you have a full kitchen and jacuzzi tub overlooking the ocean.

The Galaway Bay pub is worth visiting Ocean Shores for, they have great beer, great food and live entertainment on the weekends.

I personally love Ocean Shores.

Port Angeles is okay, but doesn't really do anything for me.
I live just about half way in between the two towns so I have been to both many times. If I had to choose between the two I would pick Ocean Shores. Very relaxing great food. If your into gambling there is a great casino. Also part of the year there is a foot ferry to Westport another great place to visit. Which every you choose you will have a great time.
