When's the best time to commute from Seattle to Redmond? |
Travel Info I have a business trip to Seattle and will be staying either in the U-District or in the Queen Anne area. I am hoping to schedule a meeting in Redmond. I am not familiar with the traffic situation in Seattle so I was hoping for some advice. When is the best time for me to commute from the Seattle areas I will be staying to Redmond? I will be making the commute on a weekday so I'm looking to avoid the rush-hour traffic. Thanks. Travel Tips Sorry Aviator, traffic is just as bad going either way: Seattle to East Side, or East Side to Seattle. We have a little company on the East Side that people do the reverse commute for. In case you've never heard of them, you may want to check them out. They're called Microsoft. To avoid traffic on a weekday on 520, you should arrive at your destination no later than 7AM, or else travel from 10-11AM, 1-3PM, or after 7PM. Others In the morning, most of the traffic is going into Seattle. And in the afternoon, most of the traffic is going out of Seattle. You will be doing the opposite. Going from U-District or Queen Ann to Redmond will be the opposite of morning traffic, and going from Redmond will be the same. I would guess from 6-9 am it will take you about 30-45 minutes to get to Redmond, and the same coming back from around 3-6pm. If you are traveling between 9-3, closer to the 30 minute mark. You'll definitely want to miss the early morning traffic - so you'd probably want to get to your destination between 6 or 7 am. Traffic is horrible no matter where you are going. Or go later in the morning, say, after 10. The previous two are very correct. the only spot you wont hit traffic in the morning is going south of seattle in the am. good luck! noon |
