Good places to show a visitor (in Redmond/Seattle)?

Travel Info
We have a friend from Belgium coming to visit us (we live in Redmond) this July. What are some good places, both generic and big tourist attractions, to show her? Thanks!

Travel Tips
Well, of course Seattle is a must-see, but you're not going to want to take your Belgium visitor to Seattle every day. Don't get me wrong; the Space Needle, waterfront, Alki, Centerhouse, and Pike Place are all great places to go visit. But if you live in Redmond, there are some pretty cool places there to go, as well. Some interesting places to take her around the Eastside when you don't want to go skipping off to Seattle:

Redmond Town Center: In July, they host summer concerts here that are put on by local musical groups. Check out their website (Google "redmond town center") for listings. Also, this is a really fun place to shop in the summertime; shops are open for longer, and, as it's an outdoor mall, it feels like you're spending time outside in the sunshine.

Lake Washington/Lake Sammamish: July is definitely one of the hottest months in Washington, so make the most of it! If you own a boat of have a friend who does, take your Belgium friend to the waterfront and have a little fun. The water is perfect temperature to cool off after a really hot day, and the scenery is gorgeous.

Issaquah: A nearby town to Redmond is Issaquah, right after you pass through Sammamish. In the summertime, Issaquah is a charming town, with cute little boutiques lining Front Street and cafes that serve delicious food for reasonable prices. If you get bored, Issaquah is a cool little town to take a short day-trip to, and you can walk around or visit the Village Theater in the evening.

Take a hike!: There are great places to get some exercise and take in the lush Washington landscape around the Eastside. Just a short 15-30 minute drive out of Issaquah is Tiger Mountain, with hikes ranging from easy to mild to somewhat difficult. You can also ride your bike around Redmond and Marymoor Park.

Hope this helps! Have fun, and don't forget about life's small joys. You don't have to go all the way into Seattle to entertain a guest.
Others
When I visited there among other things, I liked:

1. Underground (rat?) tour of Seattle downtown.
2. Pikes
3. The first Starbucks - not much to see, but ya gotta see it!
4. Ferry ride.
5. Rock and roll museum.

Since you live in the area, you should know about some things to see and do.
There are so many! Not sure where to start.

One option is City Pass http://www.citypass.com/city/seattle.htm... This basically pre-pays for admission to (5) Tourist Attractions INcluding Argosy Cruises (can't beat the city views from the Sound!), Aquarium, Woodland Park Zoo, Museum of Flight and more.

Always the space Needle and Seattle Center, Pikes Market and Pioneer Square. Seattle Center has food, shopping EMP and a great way to spend some time. Pioneer square has an improvisional group called Theatre Sports on Fri and Sat late nights, thats fun if you are into that sort of thing. Pioneer Square is shopping, restraunts and bars and home of the Underground Tour which is an AWESOME peek into Seattle History.

The Ballard Locks are wonderful and I think Relaxing to spend some time, maybe a picnic, watching the boats and the engineering of the Locks.

There will be lots of community festivals in July, as its Seafair Season. Once you have your dates, you can see what the different areas are doing (ie: capitol hill, ballard, university district, etc)

I like the Freemont Fair on sundays and there is a "troll" under the freemont bridge which is great to show. Brunch at Salty's on West Seattle is all you can eat fresh seafood. West Seattle overall is just a great place to walk on the beach.

Don't forget the Musuem of History and Industry by the cut off 520.

Tacoma has the Musuem of Glass.

Take a ferry ride to Poulsbo and spend some time at their shops. Heck, just taking a ferry ride anywhere anc coming right back is a great way to see the city and sound.

Don't forget your Mariners Tickets!

Good Luck
