Pioneer square? |
Travel Info I'm moving to Seattle in July or August, and my boyfriend has found a place he likes in Pioneer Square. However, one of his friends says she wouldn't feel safe living there. Should I trust him, or talk him out of it and find another area? Travel Tips Pioneer Square- a nice place to visit but wouldn't wanna live there Others Lots of places in that area are unsafe or scary because the homeless tend to hang around there more than anywhere else, along with druggies. Some parts of it are okay, though, so it kind of depends on where he is situated. Pioneer Square is in the heart of downtown, near the train station and all the rescue missions. Lots of scary people there. Its also next to both stadiums and rents are ridiculous. Good luck. Welcome to Seattle. Come on vacation, leave on probation, come back on violation. I don't feel safe even walking there! I certainly would never live there, or even set foot there after dark. The only dangerous panhandlers in town are in Pioneer Square. All of the homeless in the city are in Pioneer Square. The homeless shelter and soup kitchen are there. A huge proportion of the city's nut jobs, sex offenders, and other people you don't want to meet on a dark street are there. BTW, Pioneer Square is also known as Skid Road. It is the original Skid Road. Pioneer Square after dark is not the best place to visit. But during the day, you are close to the Farmers market, and who could miss the "Under-ground city"? Pioneer Square is full of homeless drunken bums and sleezy Bars and undesirables. Only a half-wit would live there. pioneer square is fine. it is really busy down there though. i'd try to talk him into the west side, over by the produce market. |
