Moving to Seattle, WA from Portland, Oregon??

Travel Info
I've been born and raised in (downtown) portland oregon (22 years) I have been thinking about re-locating to the Seattle Area (open to anywhere around the area) I'm having trouble deciding if it's a good move, I think i'm ready for a change...does anyone have any pros & cons about Seattle?
Thanks sooo much!

Travel Tips
My brother moved to Seattle from Portland. He loved the change.

Pros
Seattle has more sports entertainment.
Seattle has more music entertainment.
Seattle has better places to go and do nothing.
Seattle has more crazy looking freaks to look at and be entertained.

Cons
Portland is closer to a beach which you can go surfing.
Portland has a better school system. (This is if you have kids.)
Others
Good morning to you. I myself will be moving to the South Seattle area for a good job that pays quite well. There is no state income either which is awesome. More money in my pocket. I have been to Seattle before several yeas and loved it. Finally moving for good this time. I have friends there and they seem to like it. Just like anywhere else though, there is the good and bad of any place. I think Seattle has more good than bad though. Good luck with your quest.
Pros: Its a great city
Cons: People keep moving here and ruining it all

My advice to you is move to California. Do you really want a city with MORE rain?
Portland has better transportation and better traffic than Seattle. As for no income tax, yes, that's true, but we have a 9% sales tax, so I'm not sure who ends up coming out ahead.

Seattle is beautiful, but Portland has its merits too. I guess what you really have to decide is, are you willing to start over somewhere new?
Being from Portland you will feel very much at home in Seattle. It's a little cooler in the summer... but similar. If the job is a great fit go for it- you'll only be 3 hours away from home!
Somebody pointed out that there is not State Income Tax. That is true but our sales tax is higher then most states our size.
The cost of living is higher here.
The weather is about the same...a lot of RAIN.
As far as things to do, culture, etc. Seattle is one of the BEST cities I have ever been to.
I agree with one of the other answers. Move to California. I fought like hell trying to save enough money to get out of Seattle. God awful pit of hell that was...Oh and there is a lot of rain too.
