Travel Tips San Juan county has a specific website for this www.sanjuanisland.org Others Google British Camp and American Camp on San Juan Island. They are left over sites for the "Pig War" when the US and England were fighting over the territory. http://www.nps.gov/sajh/ In addition to American Camp as already noted, Roche Harbor and Rosario Resort are both beautiful places with some history that can be visited. (Orcas and San Juan Islands) Patos Island has a lighthouse that you can look at (not go into however) - but you have to have your own boat to get there. No ferry transport to Patos Island. Much of what people go to San Juan County for is the natural beauty - Whale Watching, boating, kayaking, hiking, biking.
