What are some easy to moderate day hikes around Seattle WA? I'm looking for 3-6 hour hikes.? |
Travel Info I'm looking to go hiking with some buddies. We live in Seattle and are fairly new to hiking. (I've only been on one - Banderas, and that was difficult for me). Preferably within 100 miles from downtown Seattle. What are good spots within a two hour drive and has a easy to moderate incline. We plan on hiking no longer than 6-7 hours roundtrip. Travel Tips Tiger and Cougar mountains are the most popular, hanging gardens state park is a good hike, also a really cool hike is to hike to the Ghost towno f Franklin between Cumberland and Black Diamond, old ruins of houses gabage pits, cemetery, way back in the woods, also a pit that drops to sea level Others Lots of trails got damaged this past winter with the windstorms we had. It's hard to say what will be open and hikable. I'll let others make some suggestions, but I'll point out that you should check with the rangers in the area you want to go to make sure the hikes are still open. Here's a Mountaineers Club link that has all of the different ranger offices links so you can check it out. http://www.mountaineers.org/ Happy Hiking! If you are true beginners, Cougar or Tiger Mountains in Issaquah have good, short trails. Wallace Falls in the North Cascades is easy. Otherwise, check the mountaineers website. Hike on the Trails in the Arboretum and visit Essential Bakery on Madison Street. |
