To San Juan Islands from Everett, WA? "Mosquito Fleet"? |
Travel Info Anybody know about a ferry that goes from Everett to the San Juan Islands? I need to know asap. I read about the Victoria Clipper, but they don't start until July! and I need it for this Saturday, June 9th! Please help. I read about the "mosquito fleet', but I don't know how to reach them, or what it is. Travel Tips As the previous answerer suggested, you should consider the Washington State Ferry that departs from Anacortes for several of the San Juan Islands. Here is the current schedule: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/schedule... Others Here you go: http://www.ferrytravel.com/everett.htm... There is not a ferry that is currently running from Everett to the San Juans. Everett does not have a dock large enough to accomadate a ferry, unless you count the naval pier. You can take a ferry out of Anacortes that will get you to the islands. Also I am not sure if the Mosquito Fleet is still running, but they were primarily whale watching tours. There IS a ferry from Everett- actually from Mukilteo at the foot of the bluff below the Boeing plant. But, it goes to Whidbey Island. You can, then, drive up Whidbey, back on the mainland (easier to just go up I-5) to Anacortes and take the Washington State Ferry. You can also get a seaplane from Lake Union in Seattle or from Kenmore. The mosquito fleet were the private ferries... that was more than 60 or 70 years ago. |
