An going to be in seattle for a couple of nights? |
Travel Info Just wondering if anyone can tell me some good place's to go see some live music along the lines of the seattle sound, rock punk or indie music Travel Tips El Corazon & Chop Suey have cool shows if there is a good show going on. One cool place that rarely will get mentioned is the Funhouse. It's located almost across the street from Seattle Center/Space Needle on 5th, next to McDonalds. It is a really small dive bar that will have a lot of random shows, but they'll be some really cool punk shows by small local groups that don't make it yet to the bigger venues. There's all kinds of shows that go on there and usually something or other on the weekend. It's a cool place to check out either way. If there's a show, it's a really intimate place to see one, as the performers will be on the floor just in the corner playing. Others You will want to visit the Capitol Hill area for the eclectic scene. Lots of bars and nightclubs playing the type of music you are looking for. If you have time, take time to visit Pike Place Market and the Waterfront in Downtown. These venues tend to have a lot of punk and indie bands, I've never been to a show in Seattle but my sister been to most of these especially El Corazon.
