Seattle Crime?? |
Travel Info Does anyone out there know what the rate of crime (specifically rape) in Seattle is for the past 5 years? My niece is moving there for college in the fall and it's just a good thing for her to know. Thanks! Travel Tips Seattle is as safe as she makes it! She needs to be careful who she becomes friends with, and not to go off with anyone she does not know well...If she is in the U district, she'll be like everyone else because it's full of students...She needs to become friends with someone from the school before she gets here, so she will have a mentor upon arrival... The other answers give good advice for police and sex pred. web-sites...look them up!....AND PRAY FOR HER... The University Presby.Church is a good church for her to attend...If she is a Christian, she'll like the people there, and lots of students.... Others I don't know the rate, but I'd feel fairly safe there. I work about 15 minutes away from Seattle, and I think crime there isn't so bad. You can find the stats on the Seattle Police Department's web site. They list it by area, and by type of crime. Your niece will be just fine if she has any common sense, keeps out of trouble, doesn't associate with criminals, looks out for herself, and stays out of downtown, SoDo, International District, and especially Pioneer Square. Your niece should look at this web site to before moving. It is a site that shows where sex offenders that are registered live. http://www.familywatchdog.us/ http://www.familywatchdog.us/ |
