Where are good places to go jogging in Seattle? |
Travel Info I am going to Seattle for work the last week of June and was wondering where to run. Travel Tips It depends on where in Seattle you go. Greenlake is located just a bit north of the University Dist. (and the UW) and is a great place to jog. Over in West Seattle is Alki Beach and the walkway along Alki is a great place to jog as well (and definitely people watch). The Burke Gilman Trail runs from around the University of Washington, up north through near the Lake City area and around the north end of Lake Washington and that's a great trail that's used for commuting and recreational jogging/biking/skating/etc. If you are jogging at night, I'd say Greenlake is the best out of those 3. Some stretches of Burke Gilman can get really dark at night and isn't lit well. Actually, so can Greenlake, but I've always felt safest and could see fine running Greenlake. Alki is also great at night and you can see bonfires along the water at the same time, often on the weekends. There's a lot of other smaller known trails, parks, and definitely High School track fields you can run as well, depending on where you are. No matter where in Seattle you are, you can't be too far from a school that has a track as a bare minimum... Others Try around Greenlake. It's a nice little jog with beautiful scenery including the lake. The seattle waterfront is also nice. Green Lake. |
