Nice places to live between tacoma and seattle? |
Travel Info moving somewhere between there and ideas? Travel Tips It's going to really depend on what your budget looks like and whether you are interested in buying or renting a place. There are a number of different nice places, but nice is also a bit subjective, as there's nice such as near the water and nice such as "at least it isn't a dump!"... In between Tacoma and Seattle, there's Federal Way and Des Moines which both have some nicer areas in them. If you are interested in buying, prices are a good deal lower than in Seattle, but prices have been on the rise and are continuing to rise here. You can find a lot of nice places in both and Des Moines has a really nice area near the water (that at least I was surprised at when I was on the market to buy a place). Also, Auburn is near and nearer to Tacoma than to Seattle and has cheaper real estate still. I don't find it to be that nice of a place, but a lot of people like it. Renton is closer to Seattle, bordering it to the south and right on the south end of Lake Washington. There are a lot of nice neighborhoods and it is very convenient in my opinion for being close to Seattle, the Eastside (Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland), and you just hop on the freeway south to Tacoma and the southend. It would be my personal choice out of all of these, but mostly because I tend more towards Seattle than Tacoma, although I go to both. There are some affordable places but Renton has really been moving up in price. There are also an awful lot of apartments in Renton, if you are planning on renting. Others Climb a tree. And hope wi-fi comes to your area. There is Renton and Kent, WA. Jude:2 None, really anymore - it has become mostly suburban sprawl and the airport is there. I would suggest you go inland a bit but then you would be prone to be in the middle of catastrophe when Mt. Ranier blows its top. As obvious as it sounds---DO NOT live in Seatac Depending on what price range you are looking for the Fairwood area of Renton is nice and conveniently located. Renton or Federal Way are going to be more affordable than the Eastside areas of Bellevue or Kirkland. Renton has some nice areas. I agree with the person who said stay away from Seatac. |
