How will the new passport rules affect the folks on Point Roberts, Washington? |
Travel Info Point Roberts is a tiny pennsula connected to Canada, but it is part of Washington State. One of those quirks of fate and map making wierdness. Travel Tips I think the new enhanced voluntary Washington driver's license will be the answer. http://www.oregonlive.com/news/oregonian... I recall hearing that Pt Roberts school kids travel through Canada by bus to and from Blaine for school every day. I hope there's an ID-only version of the new driver's license for them! Others Since the only practical way of getting there is going across at Blaine, they'll need their passports unless something is worked out especially for Pt. Roberts residents. Of course, they also have stations at Pt. Roberts but the fact is that they are still crossing from USA to Canada. |
