Travel Info Are there any great seafood restraunts on the Olympic Peninsula? How bout' cheap cabins or bed and breakfast? Travel Tips Lake Crescent Lodge is a pretty 1900s lodge with a stone fireplace glassed porch, and astounding view of a pristine lake. If you stay in the cabins it will cost you anywhere from $110-195 a night. BUT!!! If you stay in the lodge itself there are five small rooms upstairs that go for just $68-85 a night! Whats the secret? They were built in the 1900s when accomodations were spare. Youll find a double bed, a dresser, a desk, a sink & a mirror. You'll share a men's or women's bath with the other 4-5 rooms, and its just toilet and shower. No jaccuzzi, no heated lights, no sample toiletries. No phone, no tv, no video games, no computer docking. no Air Conditioning. What you do get is a little bench by the windows that open like shutters with no screens. Sit by the window at 2 am and look out onto the undeveloped lake, and storm king mountain behind it. There is no ambient light pollution and the stars are so bright you can actually see the STARS reflected in the water! Come down in the morning to breakfast on the porch , and spend the day hiking -- nearby trails to falls, drive up hurricane ridge, go see Hoh Rain forest. I don't know of any seafood places, but the lodge staff is knowledgeable and can send you to some places im sure. Look at the website, and you will see a pic of the lodge -- the five windows you see on the second level are the rooms - all face the water!
