Is Lynnwood, Washington a good place to live? |
Travel Info I'm considering a move from Olympia, WA to Lynnwood, WA, but I don't know too much about Lynnwood. What are some of the positives and negatives about Lynnwood? Is traffic to Seattle bad? Are there grocery stores and things to do there? Any information would be helpful. Thanks! Travel Tips I live in Edmonds and across the street (literally) from Lynnwood. Lynnwood is pretty nice. Alderwood Mall is a nice mall that has really improved and people come up to there from other areas to shop (although parking is lousy on the weekends). There are a lot of stores around the area for groceries. I prefer Top Foods of which there is one close to me. There are also a couple good-sized Asian markets in Edmonds, just a minute away from Lynnwood. Traffic to Seattle is bad on I-5 in the mornings. If you are carpooling, travelling early in the morning, or on 99, it shouldn't be awful. I used to commute to Seattle every morning, working 8-5, but I left at 7 morning and got to work a bit early each day, as if I left later, it took a lot longer due to worsening traffic. A lot of areas in Lynnwood are really nice. There's things to do such as movie theatres, plenty of shopping options, and dining options. I'm not sure what else you are interested in. Give details if you're looking for other types of information.Lynnwood is not too bad. Lots of shopping. Traffic sucks of course. Lots of public transportation though. Good luck. Traffic sucks because it has grown a lot. But around here, you will get traffic everywhere you go. Learning back roads from work will really help. You should check out the nieghborhoods before you move. Sometimes they build houses/apartments in not so good neighborhoods because the land is cheap. Not much to do, but Seattle's not THAT far away w/o traffic. The mall has gotten a lot better and there are plenty of stores. live in puyallup its better seems more rich o and they have the best public schools ranking top 5% in the nation I lived there for 2 years and now reside 1 town over. The apartments your moving to ( if they're the ones I'm thinking of) are very new and nice. there is a park down the road you can walk your dog in. It's a very open park and there are ususally a few people there so I assume it's pretty safe. The Mall is probably the best around outside of the city. There is some traffic but you'll be located right around a hub of back roads, and I-5 is about 5 min. away. there isn't a lot in the way of bars and clubs but seattle is only 20 min away. there are some pretty trendy bars in Mill Creek right down the road. all and all it's pretty great location in relation to the city and country. |
