Exchange student in seattle? |
Travel Info Hi! I'm an Italian girl.I'm going to the USA on August and I'm going to be there for a year. I am an exchange student, I'm 17. My host family is in Seattle. I have been told that it's a good city... What can you tell about it? And... Has anybody ever been an exchange student? Thanks guys...! Hugs+Kisses Bea Travel Tips Don't worry, if that guy is where he says he's from, it's nowhere near Seattle! My ex-girlfriend was an exchange student in Italy in some small small town whose name I can't remember, but then her "sister" from the place she stayed at there came to the states to Seattle for an exchange program and it was really cool for them to be reunited. Anyways, Seattle is a really beautiful area. If you like outdoor activities, there are plenty of things to do year-round. From skiing/snowboarding/tubing in the mountains in the winter to great hiking, biking, camping, fishing, and all sorts of other outdoor activities in the summer! Personally, I think Seattle is a great city! Do you know what school you'll be attending (or basically what area you are going to be staying in)? That'll kind of define what's around you that you might enjoy doing, but I'm sure you'll want to check out all of the tourist things and you can get those out of the way when you first get here so you can get into enjoying the area afterwards. Hope you have fun when you get here! You should definitely visit Vancouver, BC (Canada) and Portland while you are here as they are only 2-3 hours away and are both great cities to visit if you're already all the way here! Others "Living in Seattle is like having the most beautiful girlfriend in the world.... ...only she ALWAYS has a cold!" -unknown Seattle is a very friendly city, and the weather is great in August until late September. We do get a lot of days in which it rains, but it's mostly a light misty rain and a ton of gray days. We get maybe 3 days of snow total in the winter. We have plenty to do as we are right on Puget Sound, with mountains only an hour away. Whatever you like to do, we have it. Welcome! Pay no attention to the mindless fool. You will have a wonderful time here. Welcome. its great!! i moved to seattle from atlanta 5 years ago...it very rainy and gloomy, but still active almost all year round.. and the weather is very interchangable. it can be seen snowing one minute and 90 degrees the other...haha You will never forget your time here in the United States I hope you enjoy it much as possible because it really is a gifted country. Seattle is beautiful and if you go in the city at night you will see everything lit up and you will be simply amazed. God Bless and enjoy the US! |
