Travel Info
I have friends coming to Canada to visit. Aunt Uncle in 60's and 70's, cousin 30 and husband same age and a one year old baby. Anything I can do i help them feel more at home or comfortable.

Need help from Ontario, Canada. Ta.

Travel Tips
I had a friend come from England to visit me in Canada and I didn't really have to do anything to help him adjust. He was a bit tired because of the time change, but he did really well. He came in February so he had to get used to the weather because of the snow, but this time of year you wont have to worry about that. It should hopefully be nice. He wasn't used to some of our saying either and some offended. Try to watch out for a few of those because they don't always mean the same to them as they mean to us here. Other then that he had a great time. He was pretty funny too because things I would think were expensive, the though was really cheap. We went for dinner and it cost almost $200. I nearly had a heart attack, but he though that was a great price. I brought him down to Niagara Falls too and we stayed in a hotel for the night which cost almost $300. He said that was like crazy cheap. He brought like over a $1000 in spending money and was worried he didn't bring enough. It was great.

Others
If they are coming in from the US. The border crossing will be enough to make them turn around and go home. The Canadians are being real pricks at the crossing now. Sorry! Other than that, just treat them like family and have a great time!
Well, if it's not raining that'll be a nice change for them. :P

Treat them to some traditional Canadian stuff, the sort of thing we don't have in England, sorry I'm a bit ignorant of what IS traditionally Canadian, hey, I know it's a bit of a stereotype but could you let them see a Mountie? To make them feel at home though, it's a good idea to give them tea (probably Tetley, Yorkshire or PG Tips). Sorry I can't be any more help.
I'm English, I like Canadians, I like Mounties!
Are they coming to see the country - then they will want to experience the things that make us different. A pro hockey game would be great, but that would mean going to Edmonton, wouldn't it?! Any junior hockey still being played in your area?

Or, if you want them to visit without feeling like they are away, find a good British pub! (since you can't send them to Victoria!) Let them compare our beer to theirs (yikes!)

Do the touristy thing - but leave time for just sitting around - particularly for your older relatives. They want to see family, too - and not to be exhausted by running out to everything. If in Toronto, try going to The Lord of the Rings - supposed to be great, and something they could brag about when they get back.

They won't have trouble getting into Canada - and I don't know what the first post is about anyway - it's always been harder heading south, and it's the US government making noises about building walls and requiring passports ...
