Is the term Basic Travel Allowance(BTA) a real stipulation for flying? |
Travel Info I have been talking to a girl from the UK. She said she wants to visit me here in the US be has to have $900 for a BTA. Is this a real term in the travel industry? Travel Tips Tommy, I'm sorry but I have bad news. There is almost no way she "needs" to have $900 for a BTA. In fact, there is at least some chance that it is all a scam. I suggest that you have her send you a photocopy of her plane ticket "so you can be sure there is no mistake in your coming to meet the plane" and tell her you will have $900 (or equivalent proof) in your pocket when you pick her up - just in case the passport control officer requires it. I advise you NOT TO SEND MONEY to the UK. You may never see it or her. Best wishes. |
