Ashbourne is the gateway to the peak, apart from being a lovely market town in it's own right - and having the leatherbritches brewery on it's doorstep at Fenny Bentley, you can take the Tissington trail to, well Tissington obviously, but also Dovedale, the loveliest spot in the White Peak in mho, the Manifold valley, Hartington, and lots of otherplaces, like Thors cave at Wetton... Sorry, I'm an ex-pat Derbyshire lad, and got carried away! |
