You're mistaken. The Great Wall was built in China & the Chinese built it. I don't know if Russia knew about it during its early days but according to history the wall was meant to keep any enemies at bay. It was suicidal to even attempt to scale the walls. The Great Wall was meant to protect the Chinese empire against any invaders.
