Travel Info Shld singapore support Taiwan Independance? Travel Tips Taiwan has always been and is independent of China. For many years since the civil revolution, China has refused to recognise Taiwan and Taiwan has since prospered and developed its own identity. It's contribution to the world stage cannot be negated. China might be a big and powerful nation now but it doesn't mean it can claim any land as it's own. If Taiwan were to become part of China, who's to say that in future, China would not try to lay claim on Japan, Korean, Thailand, Mongolia, Russia, and Middle East as it had belonged to China in the past? Worse, China might try to claim Singapore since there's a lot of Chinese living here. It might say that Singapore is a renegade Chinese state! Knowing our government though, they are not too brave to side with either parties. Singapore is too small to risk the wrath of either nation. Others Not only Singapore, but most countries and regions in the world consider China a big power and partner, thus they won't try to be its rival. Yes. China must leave Taiwan alone. Stop bullying Taiwan and Just concentrate on alleviating the poverty of Chinese living in rural places. Must also cancentrate on prosecuting those who exploit and slave their laborers. nope! Taiwan is part of China. If one day Taiwan become independence than US, Japan or others Euro countries can set up a military base at Taiwan just try to control China. If you agree to support Taiwan Independence, let me give you a example. Do you allow a person to let his crazy dog sleep and live in front of your house? Normally the answer is no. Then why you support Taiwan to be independence? Taiwan independence is Taiwan's politician propaganda. Taiwan president had tried to declare independence, but he can't pay the price. Then why should Singapore play with Taiwan? As you can see from the answers you have already received the question is very volitable. All free nations of the world have a moral responsibility to support each other. Sometimes it requires that a very thin line be walked in providing that support. Singapore should support the desires of the Taiwanese in maintaining the government that they desire. Singapore should not have a stance in this issue because Taiwan had already prospered in their own system for the last what 40 yrs? a breakaway island which prospered from the mainland (sounds familiar?) who is Singapore to deny a nation's (which has a history far longer) aspiration from Independence? the question of whether the Taiwanese ppl wants one must then be put throuh a referendum... let the ppl decide, not some one far or near outside no matter big or small. Funny ppl this politicians... dont support for their Independence but Singapore has a Military training base in Taiwan.... looks like betting on all horses or spreading the risks..... i think taiwan should support china independance from spain |
