Why must soldiers in singapore do their services.(join the army)? |
Travel Info plzz help me...!!! i need u guys help!this is my school project and if i dont finish it..in time i am dead..my teacher just gave it to me at the same day u answer it..so i am not lazY! plzzzzzzzzz help!!! ='( Travel Tips When Singapore was seperated from Malaysia in 1965, building a defence force for a newly independent nation became a top priority. Therefore, in order to build a defence force that is sustainable, the National Service was inroduced in Aug 1967. All male Singaporean Citizens above 18 years old are required to serve "National Service." The main reason is still to provide a credible defence force to defend Singapore in times of war. Singapore does not have / own a full time army as compared to the U.S and other countries, as it would not be possible for us to do so. We still require Human Resources to be in various work sectors to contribute to our economy. One of the core values in Total Defence is Military Defence. It states that National Service is the only viable option to ensure our security Others It is called Civil Service. Firstly..you should ask your government for this.Secondly it is use to teach and ready their Citizen in all situation not to panic and to disclipine their Citizen to have a good habit and kept fit all the time! you should ask your father too!(im sure he joined the army too) Civil service?! Last I checked its National service. We all serve b'cos of possible threats around us. Who's the enemy? If you've been to P.Tekong for training, then the landscape and especially the FIBUA village, could give you an idea of who the enemy might be. SAF remains dependent on NSF b'cos all the tax payers' money are used for paying the PM salary. Therefore, we can't afford to have an entire career army like USA. Unless, you're willing to pay higher tax. Because Singapore is a small country and with rich economy. If the Singaporeans boys don't go National Service, then Singapore might be like the next Kuwait, being invaded by other countries. sg guys r fat thats why Just like Taiwan every guy have to join the service. The basic idea of the Civil Service is mainly Singapore population aren't as much as Malaysia or Indonesia. If Singapore was invert beside regular Army, Singapore can call out almost every male above 21 to become backup. Singapore is a small country with a small population. The regulars in the military will not be sufficient to defend the country. Hence the need for National Service where all able-bodied men can help to defend the country in times of need. This was modelled after the Swiss, Taiwanese and Koreans. |
