Ok I am from Indian & have been staying in singapore for few years now.
I just came to know that ppl in singapore who havent travelled much & seen the world...i mean not just malaysia & thailand... consider indians as scary person or sombody to be careful with...
I felt very bad when i heard that... shouldnt it be that a person should be judged on who he is.

Feels like i am judged by my cover...

You are not wrong.People regardless of where they are from,if they aren't exposed,haven't been around ,seen a lot, will tend to have difficulty accepting things different from theirs.They are also the insecure group of people normally.You should not let them bother you.

That is true, and I share your pain, but there is an even greater bias towards black people!

it's a stereotype, built on us since we were as young as we could talk.

if you notice, singapore has lots of foreign workers, especially from china and bangladesh and sri lanka.
because of this, and our overprotective parents and upbringing, we have stereotyped indians and 'chinamen' to be dangerous, also due to the many news reports concerning them.

yes, it's totally unfair. but society stereotypes and mindsets can't be changed overnight.
it takes more than just a number of respectable indian nationals to change that.

and fyi, we love our local indians. just not so much the native ones.
