Any great idea from singapore to kedah?

hi all,im trying to give a surprise trip to my gf whom is currently studying in UUM in kedah. can anybody PLS help in suggesting which is the cheapest/fastest way to reach there? does the KTM (train) reach there?

how about the coach services, i believe they are the cheapest way to travel, KTM i m not really sure then... cheaper still would be to go across the causeway and get your coach ticket there, cos it will then be in ringgit...
