Travel Info How had tourism鈥檚 importance to Singapore? How different has it become? What are some internal and external threats to tourism today? Travel Tips ok firstly, singapore is a small country. besides earning money from the ports and ehem, taxes of people, tourism plays an important role. so with money, we can improve on the economy. and maybe GST dont need to be 7% liao. LOL. we can also use the money for other things else like improving the military, buy the latest fighter planes and machine-guns etc. and also the money can be use to support the old people. because there is a report saying that singapore has low birth rate and low death rate. the old people cannot work mah, so need government to support. internal and external threats. not much threats i guess. in fact, it will help singapore a lot. boast the economy. and make singapore a hot spot for tourists. create work for people. because can you imagine when the casinoes and everything are up, they will need to hire a few thousands of people. so the unemployment matter will also be solve. in fact, singapore has always been quite a hot spot for tourism. like for eg, our changi airport has won awards. and the country is so clean. i guess some media and advertisements will help to spread the message around and people will visit singapore. just my thoughts. Others Tourism is one of Singapore's biggest foreign exchange earners. One example: Chinese visitors to Spore for Y2006 exceeded one million; if one Chinese tourist spend 1,000SD... you do the maths! How different? Not sure what you meant. But Spore is a wonderful city state because the Government is really spot on to developing worldclass attractions - that has to be good for all. I have 1,000% confident in the authorities of Spore to keep the country safe, sound and seductive for the world's visitors and of course its very own citizens. Because it is the PAP in charge - my answer to your last question. Sporeans have world standards for most things - education, medicine, public health, security, leisure and entertainment, etc - because of these high demand whatever Spore decides to do will invariably be worldclass. Sounds like you want someone to do your school project for you... Anyways, in my opinion, Singapore's tourism is really pathetic compared to most of other Asian countries. Not that there aren't any tourists but there is basically NOTHING fun to do. No breathtaking scenery, the themeparks suck, it's super humid and you have to queue for everything. Unless you're here for shopping, then Singapore rocks. I'm a citizen. |
