For the management level it is easier to have a 5 day work week and it is being practiced around here..But not to operational staff.. as they are being roostered and have to clog in a number of hours per week..Lack of staff is also the main reason why most hotels do not have 5 days work week for the operataion stuff. It is impossible for that, as you know hotel industry is a front-line customer service job, it is unlikely to operate on a 5-day work week. Even customer service officers, front-desk officers, hotline officers, banquet sales officers, catering officers, maintenancing staffs, housekeeping ladies, chamber-maids are working on a 24/7 working hours. Unless, you're referring to the back-end operation jobs like administration & accounts etc. They can be working on a 5-days work week basis. These jobs doesn't require a 24/7 on-job performance. A hotel that's gonna close down soon! |
