and welcome to Singapore!
you should really try Sentosa Island, that is amazing. It has a beautiful beach, and parks and gardens. All sorts of animals, its just a fantastic resort.
when in singapore, go to:
sentosa, night safari, zoo or botanical gardens...

if you wanna go window shopping, just walk along orchard road...

you can still go to a mall, and it's rather inexpensive -- mustafa at little india, try it and you won't regret it...

if you feel a little bit adventurous, go to johor bahru, malaysia... you can check out cheap stuff there that you can't get in singapore... about 40mins if you drive...
the usual:

Singapore Zoo + Night Safari (can be done in half a day)
Sentosa (usually takes an entire day, better if you start it from the cable car ride which gives you a view of the city)
Esplanade (at night, London cast of "Phantom Of The Opera" coming this April)
Clark Quay, Boat Quay, all the Quays (there are nice tours along the river and a lot of recreational activities going on like reverse bungee jumping)
Bugis (the only things that are cheaper in Singapore than in most countries around it are electronic equipment... but their flea market in Bugis is worth checking out if you know how to bargain for a price)

*restaurant food is expensive, hawker foods are just as good and cheaper
*buy an ezlink card and top it up with cash to get around the city, it covers buses & mrt's. just don't be outside late unless you know someone who has a car, only those expensive taxis would be available passed 11pm
sentosa
yes
