Should the Singapore National Library have a corner for students to do their homework? |
Travel Info I was at the library doing school homework and was asked to leave by the librarian. She said that the library is not a place for students to do homework. Why is this so? Is the library just a place for reading? Travel Tips Yes, why not? I will suggest to make a corner for study and doing homework. Students may need to borrow books for reference to do their homework. They can do homework together too. I don't think it will affect the other users of library. There is a room(Tampines Regional Library) for story-reading for young children(during certain weekends of the month). So, why not possible to make a corner for primary or even secondary students to do homework?? Others Like you said, the library is a place for reading and not doing your school homework. Let's be fair to the other users who come to the library. Surely there are plenty of quiet places in Singapore where you can do your homework. It's "home"work isn't it, so why are you not doing it at home? OK maybe it's not suitable but I am sure you can find other places, like void decks in HDB estates. Or are you one of those who need an air-conditioned place to do your homework? There is a study room in the National Library. You can study there. Some community libraries allow studying too. I've studied there before. Just ask the receptionist at the National Library which floor the study room is on. Hope this helps! =) No yes yes yes |
