Graduate salaries? |
Travel Info I am about to finish my undergraduate degree in Finance from a top 10 school in the U.S. and I'm wondering what kind of starting salaries my peers from UCT could expect working in either Cape Town or Jo'burg. Let's also assume that they graduated at the top of their class and had 6 months work experience at an international investment bank. Thanks for the input. Travel Tips should start at about R30k per month which is a fairly good wage..................the top end would be about R1million pa Others Well I dont mean to sound negative or anything just want you to know the mission would be to actually get a job and then worry about the salary. I would suggest you start applying to companies in SA before you leave US and try and get intervies set up before you leave. I wish you the best!! Im sure you will find something but try for before you leave from next to nothing to fairly good. It all depends on what they attend to do after school. If the want to go the CA rour (USA - CPA) they have to do 2 year articles with a firm and the pay then is not so good. I do not know what investment banks pay, hopefully someone else can help you. try and get a job first, then work out your expenses and then estimate on a salary that works best for you.....if you are one of the best, then you can debate with the company that hires you what you want them to pay you..... Well...Salaries in general are higher in Jhb. Assuming you managed to find a job in the banking or insurance sector (which are the better payers) you could expect around R10 000- R 14 000. |
