Are the South African regulars becoming arrogant in this category? |
Travel Info I saw some pretty decent questions come through from people that really need answers to questions, but who were bombarded by negative remarks about the country. Don't get me wrong. I am very much for freedom of speech, but I feel that if someone asks a genuine question for homework help or whatever that we should try and help instead of bicker about our personal issues. What's your take? Travel Tips Yes, I am sometimes guilty of this and I promise to try to improve. But I cannot help being defensive about my country and I do acknowledge the truth about it's situation. Sorry Porgie! But then what do you say when someone asks: What is the code for Angola South Africa?!?!?! Makes me wonder!!! Others South Africans, by nature, are arrogant. Agreed, I will try harder dad.. uh... I mean ... Mr Porg Sir. Believe that the truth is what it is - negative or not!! If someone asks a q i will give my honest answer. Its not about being arrogant, its about being true to yourself and to the person you are answering. Sugar coating things just causes more problems in the world. I know where you are coming from but let me reverse it "Dont you think some South Africans are received as arrogant with their Proudly South African slogan when the place is going backward?" There is another Answerer on here who lives in England who has stopped answering on this section "because you are all in denial about your crime." He goes on to say " he avoids South Africans in England unless he knows them very well." Its maybe hard to swallow ,Porgie, but there are many people whom I encounter in the UK who find South Africans best to avoid for a number of reasons not the least of which is this Proudly South African. I live in Australia and I love it here....but South Africa is always in my heart....and yes I get disappointed with all the negativity from some of the regulars...Having said that, I understand that since I'm not in SA, I perhaps do not fully appreciate what's going on over there at the moment. However, that, does not mean that I like the constant negativity...and I tend to observe that this stems more from those S Africans outside SA than those that actually live there... Me....homesick for South Africa |
