How cold before my violas freeze? South Africa? |
Travel Info Tonight its going to be 1 degree ... will my violas freeze? Violas are small flowers that look like pansys (gesiggies) Travel Tips they can start freezing when the temps reach about 5 degrees , also depends on the moisture in the air. what i usually do , i have those plant grow lights in each flower bed , turn them on and cover the plants with thick plastic , make sure the light faces down so as not to burn the plastic , the plastic will keep in the heat of the light , thus keeping the plants warm. Hope this helps Others for starters I hope they are inside, then you might do well to cover them, like a blanket in straw or even use towels. You need to keep them warm. i hope not they are cute flowers My violas ARE frozen... Oh, wait, you're talking about flowers... *blush* |
