When did people start being classified as Black and/or White?

Travel Info
Is the fact that dark skinned people are generally called Black the reason why everything associated with them is regarded evil by many (NOT ALL) who are said to be white? I have counted no less than 110 synonyms for blackness in English language. These include devil, grim, foul, dark, dirty, soot, wicked, sad etc. What about expressions like 鈥渂lack market鈥? 鈥渂lack sheep鈥? 鈥渂lack hearted鈥? 鈥渂lacklist鈥? 鈥渂lack Friday鈥? 鈥渂lack thoughts鈥?etc? Is this a natural reflection of the feelings about 鈥淏lack鈥? dark, unknown, feared, evil people? Does this imply an inherent racism of the early English speakers?

The only positive 鈥渂lack鈥?description I know is about the company ledger (in the positive) meaning prosperous

Did the so-called Black people consent to being called such?

Contrast these with more than 120 favourable synonyms for whiteness. Words like purity, cleanliness, chastity, innocence, happy etc. Are so-called White people really White? I鈥檝e never come across a negative 鈥渨hite鈥?description!

NB: A white lie is said to be better than a black lie.

Why is the devil and hell in the Bible regarded as dark (black)? While God and heaven are regarded as bright (white)?

Yes, truly deep...

But despite that Zim, we've come to embrace the word and find our own positivity in it. Right now it beats being called the "k" work or the "n" word...

I mean there are phrases like "black is beautiful", "the darker the berry the sweeter the juice"...

I see strength in black, its bold and sure...
Either way, I barely take it to heart. I dont mind being refered to as black... (despite the complexion). Its beyond colour and anything negative as far as I'm concerned... (",)

Fallen: wanna argue that point in the R&S section? I love you but you're asking for a thrashing...

wow, your question is deep and i don't really think i can answer it but i know this; we're all descendants of Noah...!
Everyone and everything that had lived on dry ground was drowned. Only those in the Ark survived. (Gen. 7:21-23).
Negative symbolism
Colloquially, black is sometimes used with a negative connotation. The reasons for this are various, but the most widely accepted explanations are that night is experienced by humans as negative and dangerous. A secondary reason is that stains are most visible as dark additions to pale materials. In traditional class-based Western cultures "pale" skin indicated genteel domestic or intellectual indoor-work as opposed to rough outdoor labor in the fields. Aspects of this black/white opposition are not unique to the West, as, for example in the Indian varna system and in Japanese Geisha makeup. African, Afro-Caribbean and African-American writers such as Frantz Fanon, Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, and Ralph Ellison in particular identify a number of negative symbolisms surrounding the word "black", arguing that the good vs. bad dualism associated with white and black provide prejudiced connotations to "Color" terminology for race.

A question I have heard often discussed, and which I do not really have an answer for.

If any group feels that a term used to describe them is derogatory, then we should simply stop using it. So I believe the ultimate question is whether people that are referred to as BLACK feel that we should rather use another term. I am willing to learn something new, and I am sure so are many others.
When i read this I turned "a whiter shade of pale"
