Travel Info What are your thoughts on global warming and its catastrophe's? Is Cape Town to become an under water city? Travel Tips Up the west coast past Melkbos strand is a area know as Atlantis ????? i think they knew something was a miss back then. Others I'm still stunned how many people still buy into this Global Warming fairytale. Apparently, humankind, and specifically the technology created by us, is causing dangerous fluctuations in the earth's temperature which will lead to the polar ice caps melting and blah blah blah...ok, then consider this; there have been two ice ages (that we know of) before humankind was ever a factor. And we are to blame for that how...? It's frightening how many people just don't give a damn. We can't get Consol to bring us a glass recycling bin. We do, however, have a Ronnie bin for paper - and I do my bit. Why don't we have recycling processes in SA like they do in England? Who's call is it? Why don't they spend a little more energy and money on recycling plants, and leave the smokers alone for a bit?? . We will see signs within the next 15 years of the ocean rising because of global warming. Cape Town only has 18 % of the city under 35 m above sea level. Holland will be gone in 35 years... Al Gore Documntery - Get it from your local DVD Rental Shop. according to most web pages that i visited, it seems that cape town is losing about 1.6cm a year to the sea (on average). so, in about 80 years, the v&a wil have some problems. generally though, i think that global warming is a natural phenomena (irritated somewhat by industry) which is part of the earth's life cycle. yes, we should do something about emissions, recycling etc, however, with global population growing at such rapid rates, and with industry growing exponentially, some sort of concerted effort by the world as a whole is needed. the general has spoken. |
