Travel Tips I think calling the process "immigration" in itself is a farce, in reality the process has become little more than "border jumping" at will. What Mbeki refuses to acknowledge is that the problem itself was created by him and his incompetent government through their inept policy of "quiet diplomacy" which in reality meant that they were prepared to do nothing. Had he and his government acted decisively in the late 1990's, Zimbabwe may well not have ended up in the situation (catastrophe) that it now finds itself and the problem of illigal border jumping would not today be as severe. They still like to milk the "rich countries" for exporting some of their cherished inhabitants, by demanding that they have a few hundred thousand rands upfront. |
