For those who believe South Africa to be the next Zimbabwe economically and politically? |
Travel Info In what fashion do you predict South Africa's downward spiral? Will we see inflation running into the hundreds percentage wise, forrex shortages, food supply chains disapearing and total control by the army and police as ordered by the ruling government? What in your opinion would spark such a dramatic downward spiral from where we now stand economically and politically? For those who do not envisage such collapse, why do you believe South Africa will be any different to all the other begging bowl states in Africa? Travel Tips i don't think it will happen within the next year or two, but it will definitely happen within the next ten years, in my opinion. iron liver and his cronies are losing touch with reality, and sooner or later will see the coming downfall, and will begin to pilaage the country's coffers. Source(s): the general worries. Other Travel Tips George I think we should just invade them and kill some babies. As far as the violence and crime goes, South African has surpassed Zim in that respect, ages ago. Zimbabwe has crime BUT SA has it in extremes! As far as food shortages go, has many foodstuffs not disappeared already? I believe at one time there was a shortage of tinned fish amongst other things. Forex shortages will come for sure because there is such a staggering amount of Rands available in Zim. Yes, I for one have no doubt that things will get worse yet. Since the movie 'Blood Diamond' many overseas countries are vowing not to buy diamonds from SA too. What next? Ayiza, I for one do not want SA to go down. That is my home and all my family are still there. But the truth is that it IS going down and there isn't much we on this forum can do. You would love to see us go down ne'. How aren we different from the rest of the African countries. Well we have an economy that is supports itself whats the word? yes "sustainable". Which means we don't rely on tourists for an income. We just need to export more to African and South America that way we will be more powerful economic. You see the problem with Zimbabwe was that 80% of their economy was agricultural and 90% of it was white owned which meant that the whites controlled everthing economically which is why Mugabe "snapped". In this country there are too many things that support the economy not just one. And with the "black middle class" growing from year to year its not going to happen mate. Just look at the number of Collage, Technikons and University graduates we are creating more skilled labour in the country each year. Look man start a business and make yourself lots of money or shutup and pack for Perth. ********** G.W. Bush IV Congradulations for coming out! Its o.k. to be gay. SA is a morden place. Why are accusing me anyway. Crime! Indiscriminatory senseless quick easy rewarding crime. http://www.news24.com/news24/south_afric... http://www.news24.com/news24/south_afric... A sick society, no doubt there. It will be a slow, painful suffocation of society as we already have seen the last few years. i.e. just more of the same. South Africa can麓t even right itself and it麓s citizens after 13 years of "democracy" and now we want to take on between 10 and 20 million illegals as well!!!! With current employment numbers at 12,8 million (of legals) can you imagine the extra burden on all aspects of society by an extra 10-20 million?! Plus, our last wholly flawed consensus was done 7 years back, SA is supposed to have 47 million people?!? Think much more of the same, slow and painful! The way I see it now in SA ,is that we are in a similar position than America was during the depression. There are just to many people without a job and a proper home. The government makes to many false promises to the vast numbers of black people that lives in horrendous conditions. There are also a growing number off whites that gets poorer because they cannot get into the job market or got pushed out. This is a fertile breeding ground for extremists on both sides of the political spectrum which could ultimately lead to terrorism ,large scale civil unrest and eventually civil war. The government should take the lead in creating large scale projects that can employ tens of thousands of people. This way the infrastructure of the whole country will be uplifted and it will draw in investors. People will take pride in themselves, each other and their country. If the government does not act soon the masses will explode eventually. It does not help to try and slice the cake thinner to feed more people. We need to bake a bigger cake. |
