Can you tell me everything i need to know about visiting Windhoek, Namibia and what to expect? |
Travel Info i'm visiting this summer. what are some things to do there? is it very clean? what kind of wild animals can you find? what should i expect? i would appreciate accurate information. Travel Tips Lovely place. Absolutely magic. From there you can plan tours in the country and experience Africa at its best. You must try and get to the Caprivi Strip. Windhoek is a well developed city, don't expect lions on the street! If you go a bit further north, you will see all the big game animals as well as stunning birdlife. The African sunrise there is simply amazing. The rivers in Namibia are awesome. Try to get a trip down the Zambezi river on a houseboat. The best of all is the Chobe National Game park. Try to get to Mpalela Island. If you mean the Northern hemisphere summer, remember that it's winter in the South. Because the winters in Namibia is very dry, the nights are cold, but the daytime temperatures pleasant and sunny. Namibia is a fairly big country with desert in the West and South, savanna in the East and North and subtropical woodland in the Northeast. You need to say where in Nam you will travel to get more accurate info. Nice places to visit is the Fish River Canyon, Swakopmund and Etosha National Park. Either way you'll experience more space than you have (probably) ever seen and the winter desert sunsets are the most beautiful in the world. Word of warning though: it's a land that takes hold of your heart and never let's go. |
