What do you believe would happen if the current generation of white South Africans governed now? |
Travel Info Do you believe they would abide by western values of freedom and democrasy or would they return to segregational policies such as apartheid? I know the above is an impossibility but I would be interested to see how events would unravel in such circumstances. PS - This is not an invitation for hate speech, it is merely a question exploring where you believe the white South African mindset to be in modern times, please treat it as such. Travel Tips There were a lot of good things that could be taken from the previous system of Government although many have either been totally distorted by the current crop of Communists or alternatively were never given a proper chance by the activities of the Terrorist ANC. An example would be the self governing Homelands but the true history will show that the ANC attacked and terrorised those Blacks who participated. The fact is that nowhere in the World does multiculturalism work and it wont work in South Africa. If you go back 20 years in political history you will find the great Western Nations had immigration and social development Policies not too disimilar to the then South Africa excepting they were not called Apartheid. The trick for the modern day Politician would be to find a way of getting the different Groups within South Africa to live peaceably with each other but not necessarily integrated. Those who say there are no differences between the various cultures are either liars or seriously deluded and Africans would need to have their standards raised to understand the meaning of the word Democracy and what it entails. For the moment they are still Tribal and hellbent on revenge and it is going to take some serious education and evolution to undo the evil of the ANC and their backwardness. Others Sjoe, Apartheid. I don't think so, I mean that was a very bad time in the past and it surely didn't mean anything positive towards SA! South Africa will always walk under the burn-mark of Apartheid. If South Africa was ruled by a White Person and from another party, I don't think that the black people will be neglected or be discriminated against. I just think that everybody will have fair and equal chances and people (black and white) who doesn't belong in top positions will not stay where they are for much longer. Then again, who knows? Maybe the white people might take revenge and put black people in cleaning jobs and those "low cost" positions.... Eish! It won't be good...... Only the future will tell!!! I just hope and pray for a free, safe and beautiful country where all races will build a happy nation! This is the best question ever !Even me, a white Afrikaner must think very hard about this one .I think they would abide by western values of freedom and try to find solutions in order to move away from a almost autocratic way of governing making democracy realy working ! They would definitely strife to be better because they have to prove that they want to repair were our forefathers has f@cked up ! Better law enforcement will be first on the list. I think if the president in future is white he should be bloody good or we will take him out of the chair our self ! IF we ever get a equal chance we will never screw up again ! The possibility of improvement is almost guaranteed as there is vast room for it every were you look ! if they were narrow minded idiots, who were about 80 years behind the rest of the western world, then i guess it will be an Conservative government where there is no freedom of speech, detentions without trial, torture and intimidation the rule of the day, the state church would condone the separation of the races, no challenge to the rule would be tolerated, etc, etc. if they were more liberal minded as you say, then it would be a multiracial government, were freedom and democracy ruled.racial prejudice would be non existent.people of ALL races would have to make sacrifices to uplift and improve the living conditions of others and at the same time acknowledge and try and reverse the ravages of the past. keeping in mind that all this will take time and effort. I think the first thing to go is going to be BEE and AA. We might also see a firmer stand regarding the Zimbabwe issue. Other than that I don't know. Once in the possession of power the opressed becomes the opressor. It's been seen time and time again in this country and the rest of the world. The only way to break the cycle is a country where the economic structure moves more and more towards capitilism. Therefore keeping government interference to the bare minimum. Only when government's(black or white) power is limited in such a way - will true equality be the victor. Hello this is Mr Cash Well hopefully they will do a better job next time.They could learn from their mistakes and also learn from Australia's and America excellent policies regarding the Abo's and Indians!! Segregation wont even be an issue, take those who want to work and wipe the rest of the f***ers out! Eg if the elephant population in Kruger is too large,we cull them.We should do the same to the monkeys!! It could be our chance to write the wrong of segregation, the new policy will be called Termination! Not gonna happen, so it's pointless to hypothesize. You're stuck with Marxists and other such baboons. And because African culture doesn't lend itself to capitalism and individualism, there will be no Martin Luther King or Colin Powell arising any time soon. The only whites that will be allowed to participate in South African politics will be scum like Joe Slovo and his worthless wife. |
