Do you think that organized labour in South Africa is telling the government their former brothers in arms? |
Travel Info That the honeymoon is over and that there is a new sheriff in town, what do you guys think. Travel Tips I don't think so. In-depth analysis reveals that the militancy and violent nature of the strike is an extension of the succession plan in the ANC. Even during the apartheid days, we used to insist that we should not allow our anger to extend to the sick and infirm. We would arrange for skeleton staff for hospitals -mind you the strikes of those days were to bring the government down. Now there can't be an explanation why this time around the union with struggle credentials decided to go against that tradition. Then you listen to pretender to the throne - Jacob Zuma - with contradictory sentences in one paragraph. You also see that only in his strong hold of KZN are teachers and nurses forced out of work by the strikers. I was listening to one moron of a teacher in KZN, who kept on saying that they will not accept anything less 10% or else the strike will never end. While their clown leader JZ always cries that he's being unfairly treated, he's encouraging them to disobey a court order forbidding essential services workers from going on strike. The whole thing is staged to give the Zuma camp leverage during next week's ANC policy conference. Others There is no doubt that the strike is connected to the ANC battle for power. Mbeki is a lame duck that very few want returned to the Presidency but he wants to choose his successor as all Chiefs do in a tribal battle. The reality here is the fight btetween Marxism ( Mbeki's faction) and Leninism ( SACP and Cosatu) but never will there be democracy so it doesnt matter who is elected President as they will follow the doctrine of their Communistic leanings. The ANC have tried to smear Zuma out of the race which is pretty evident from the general view held by many South Africans but he still has strong grassroots support. If elected those already on the Mbeki gravytrain know they will have to make way for new thieves and that is unpalatable to them. South Africa is very, very sick and the former glory days will never return. You are stuck with African despots and you can only pray you do not get a Mugabe or Amin or better still flee while you still can. |
