Why blame the South African Government if a Private company employs an unqualified BEE guy?

Travel Info
Well most of you(whites) made it clear in a question that I asked before "Why so quick?"
That you don't have a problem with who gets the job but they must be qualified.
THE GOVERNMENT ACTUALLY AGREES WITH YOU GUYS.
You know what companies do ?
They take a cleaner give him a managing position on paper just to make up the BEE numbers and that guy continues cleaning he gets a R1000.00 extra in his salary.
Some have gone as far as creating fake black holdings companies and then they claim that they are owned by them.

IT is called FRONTING (not sure about the spelling).

I am happy to report that the government is cracking down on this.
Now companies offering tenders must actually go out and interview the so called BEE guy and they must physically count the bee stuff and interview them.

So what do you think?

Gaz'lam.
I've been mentioning that so many times but it's always ignored. We know the reason why - that would take the wind out of the sails of their anti-transformation statements.

It has happened so many times. I used to deal with some whites who put those domestic workers and gardeners as directors. Or you would have a black man with B.Ed being a senior member of an engineering company. The company would parade him as their "empowerment vehicle". The poor guy wouldn't be able to answer a single question during tender interviews. On his side there'd be "Bull" who would make the presentation and answer every question etc.

This abuse of the system and exploitation of the "illiterate" from our communities; and the fake empowerment deals are never mentioned by our pseudo-analysts in this forum. Mentioning them will be treacherous to the cause of superiority complex.

Are you slow thinking, or just plain stupid?
Private companies wouldn't have to hire unqualified garden boys and give them thousand rand bonuses if the ANC government hadn't made racist hiring practices law.

That's why they're to blame, genius.
The Government implemented this system as you know.

And yes I agree that you can not make a cleaner a stakeholder for a R1000.00 more a month. That is BEE but certainly not what the Government planned right? And sad to say, but that is how the strictly speaking white companies kept their makings and shares. Mostly these companies didn't want to let go of their "top" people in the company but for the government to not close them down, they went for desperate measures. Desperate times calls for desperate measures.

What I've got a problem with and surely a lot of other people, is where there's a position advertised which says BEE/AA and there's a bunch of white guys with numerous degrees and the relevant experience, and a few black guys with only Gr10 and experience of a packer in Checkers Hyper, and the black guy gets it because it MUST be a black employment.

That my dear boy is RACISM and DISCRIMINATION, but then again, anything said to you by our whiteys is mos net TRASH!
Well the only way to get tenders in SA these days is to have a BEE partner in your private company or Close Corporation. Tenders have deadlines and finding a suitable black partner who is willing to invest capital in your business and has the necessary qualifications takes time. So to acquire tenders, before the cut off date they turn to the next option - an unqualified black person.
In my line of work I've seen countless cleaners be made partners in companies to make the quota, it's usually mostly a time issue.

Like I said to your previous question, If the black partner bought his shares and he is qualified - he deserves his place, but out of desperation for tenders white companies turn to the only other alternative.
Wow.
I totally agree with you.
The cases you and Moloi are by far in the minority and at best represent small employers. The big Employers have no choice in the matter as you would have us believe for they face either a heavy fine or being prevented from conducting business with State or quasi State entities.
Ayiza you need to learn the difference between BEE and the Employment Equity Act for it is the latter you are referring to. You also need to understand that these pieces of legislation are not stand alone and are part of a bigger picture and wider implementation of achieving reverse discrimination.
We had our own security company and had to comply with AA standards. Now to me true empowerment is taking someone that would normally not be able or have the opp to better himself/herself, train the said person and give them the position. This is what I did. We had a very very intelligent gardener who's talents where wasted by working in a garden. We took him in trained him and he became our office manager. After 4 months we trained him and he became our controll room manager. This to me is empowerment. A man that could barely make a living, went to R3000 a month. The whole system is wrong. There is no true empowerment going on. Look at members of the board and things like that. It is a hand full of elite ANC members and the yr children that belong to them. The man and woman on the street that should receive the empowerment never get the opp. to do so. And also remember. You have men and woman working the yr entire lives towards one goal. Becoming a director. In walks a person with no work history and take the position they have been working for. In this way people would not mind if the other person was the best man or woman for the job.
