Why do liberals and ANC supporters never recognise the good in H.F. Verwoerd? |
Travel Info It seems that today's South Africans merely label him as an "evil racist" knowing little to nothing about the man himself. When Apartheid was planned and introduced by Verwoerd among others, the intentions were good although somewhat lobsided. Maybe if the NP government had provided the black homelands with a bigger piece of the pie, it could have actually worked. They are not designed to remove all white people from their jobs the systems just required that a minimum of 30% of the working stuff be non white so 70% can still be white I don't understand where you get that all whites have to go. Its obviuos that if you are white you have to work hard and prove to your boss that you deserve to be in the remaining 70%. If you are in the 30% then you were useless to begin with the boss just got a good excuse to remove you without his hands getting burnt because now your dumb@ss will be angry at the government and not him. Trust me I saw it happening the guy was told its BEE but then he got replaced by another white guy. He! he! he! Gotta disagree with you on this one, dude. Verwoerd, like DF Malan before him was a racist through and through, who saw anyone not wrapped in a white skin as inferior to those who were. The very fact that he wanted to create separate so-called 'Homelands', effectively separating blacks from participation in white South Africa is proof of that. The Group Areas Act also was one of the most divisive and evil political legislations enacted in the history of the world, and the residue of that is largely the root cause of many of the ills befalling South Africa today - which does not give anyone a free pass to blame everything on 'the legacy of apartheid'. If people want to live in the past, they'll never reach the future. The ''good'' that he had done is overshadowed with the **** up that he left me and my kids being white Afrikaners ! Think about this for one second ! It's like a loan-shark helping you because you are in debt.............. The evil perpetrated by this angry old man overshadowed any good that he might have done. (Like Hitler, Mugabe and others). |
