Travel Info That white South Africans always say this country would be nothing if they did not colonise us? How do you know ? Some of you even say it wouldn't be a GREAT country. SA was not and still not a great country a great country looks after ALL its citizens. Travel Tips It is a defensive response to:The white man stole our land,the white man just brought misery,They do not belong,even if they were born in the country and have no ties to Europe. If you are a minority in a country,you have that lingering obsession to prove that you are contributing and that it is appreciated. One will never know what would have been, if the continent were never colonized.A couple of hundred years ago the world was a different place,people had different values that drove them,it is always easy to say in retrospect that it was wrong and they should have done this or that.We were not in their shoes and did not live in their time.What we do today might be an embarrassment to far in the future generations.One can only base your decisions on the time you are alive in, and use the past as a reference.The future will only prove if it was good or bad.The best we can do is to question everything and not to follow blindly because history will see us as the agreeing masses that were all complicit. When you are in command it is easy to dismiss the complaints off the dissatisfied, but remember no one stays forever in the top position. You can only extend your stay in power by catering to everyone's needs. Others The only reason why you are so angry is because the ANC has let its people down. The white people gave up their rule and knew the consequences fom that i.e. that they will never gain majority power again. Our politicians worry about their personal life more than worrying about water , housing and crime issues. Actually they all talk bull sh!t ! The blacks helped the whites and the whites helped the blacks .End of story ! What would have been is merely speculation and depends on who is doing it ! Show me one business that never employed black people and vice versa ! Playing 'what if games' can only work if you can estimate ALL possible variables; and as for what the place SA might have had now; it is too complex to consider. One possibility is that King Shaka might have been ruler in an area covering the whole of sub-saharan africa (Whioch meant that we would have had access to oil by now). Where did Africans ever industrialize anything? I still maintain, that, if the Europeans had not colonised South Africa, then the Arabs would have done so. Take your pick ! We all contributed to our country, we all suffered and are still suffering, Bur tell me Ayiza which is the great country that you are dreaming of no country looks after all the citizens, there are always those who suffer more and unfortunately it always seems to be the middle class |
